Crude oil prices dropped more than a dollar a barrel in trading on Friday and Oklahoma energy stocks fell as well, some as much as 6% for the day.
The dollar strengthened and oil traders booked profits according to Reuters.
West Texas Intermediate crude fell $1.47 or 1.9% per barrel to $75.42 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude dropped $1.49 or 1.8% and settled at $79.87 per barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
August natural gas fell 1 cent to $2.55 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Oklahoma energy stocks suffered in Friday’s trading with most recording losses for the day. Vital Energy and Matrix Services took 6% drops for the day while Devon Energy fell 4%.
