Federal regulations might prevent rural Texas from getting broadband funding

A report suggests large rural areas of Texas might not get some of the $3.3 billion in federal money awarded the state last month to expand braodband infrastructure across the state.

The Texas Tribune says federal regulations will require that small telecommunications companies will have to put up large amounts of money in order to receive some of the funding that was targeted for some 7 million Texas to give them improved internet service.
