Enviros doubt New Mexico Governor’s green energy promises

Environmentalists are curious why New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham was recently appointed to the executive committee of the U.S. Climate Alliance, a coalition of governors who are considered the nation’s environmental leaders.

They question whether she is really as “green energy” conscious as she claims.

They contend Grisham has been anything but upholding her campaign promises about reducing greenhouse gas emissions and embracing clean energy in her state. She was also named in a lawsuit that accuses her and others of failing to protect citizens’ rights to clean air, water and land.

“The governor has absolutely no business being a member of a climate leadership group,” said the lead counsel in the lawsuit reported Searchlight New Mexico.
