Citizen Energy adds to its Anadarko Basin hold with more Grady County wells

Tulsa’s Citizen Energy III LLC recently filed completion reports on two wells drilled on a single pad in Grady County….an example of the company’s hustle to add more to its daily oil production.

All of the Sprowls wells are located about 4 miles southwest of Minco at 11 9N 8W and were completed in December of 2022.

The Sprowls 1h-11-2, spud in July of 2022, produced 129 barrels of oil a day and 2,610 Mcf of natural gas from a drilled depth of 23,710 feet. The true vertical depth, according to the completion report, was  12,771 feet.

The second well, the Sprowls 2h-11-2, produced 240 barrels of oil a day and 3,084 Mcf of natural gas from a drilled depth of 23,770 feet in the Mississippian formation. True vertical depth was 12,695 and the completion report showed the well was also spud in July of last year.

The Grady County wells drilled by Citizen Energy represent the firm’s strong hold in the Anadarko Basin. Backed by Warburg Pincus, the company has worked up to nearly 585 horizontal wells producing 80,000 bbl/d on 350,000 net acres following its creation 11  years ago.

In May at the SUPER DUG in Fort Worth, Citizen Energy’s CFO Tim Helms told the audience, “We see inventory in the Permian and Haynesville, in particular, starting to shrink. For others to come into the Anadarko Basin, we’re well positioned, we’ll have the inventory and we’ll be a great target there.”
