Wyoming coal mine takes a direct hit from a tornado

Samuel De Leon shared this dramatic photo of the storm cell and tornado that swept through southern Campbell and northern Converse counties Friday evening.

 

The six workers injured at a northeast Wyoming coal mine that suffered a direct hit from a tornado Friday night are recovering.

Cleanup work at the North Antelope Rochelle Mine is also underway after coal rail cars were flipped when the powerful storm hit.

The Cowboy State Daily reported the large open-pit coal mine took a direct hit and the tornado flipped vehicles and railcars.
