As crude oil prices managed a slight gain in Thursday’s trading, Oklahoma energy prices recorded a strong day with some seeing gains of 6% to 10%.
The day’s gain for crude prices was supported by a bigger draw than expected in U.S. crude inventories.
West Texas Intermediate crude went up 30 cents or 0.4% to close at $69.86 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Brent crude, the global benchmark, rose 31 cents or 0.4% and wrapped up the day at $74.34 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
Natural gas also finished up, settling at $2.70 with a 3 cent or 1.24% gain for the day.
It was a strong day in trading for Oklahoma energy stocks as SandRidge Energy gained 10% and Mammoth Energy recorded at 7% boost.
Others in the energy industry also recorded gains according to the Texas Energy Report.
