Thousands of new jobs could be created in methane targeting effort in Texas

While Oklahoma is pursuing a possible carbon credit program in an effort to reduce methane emissions from abandoned wells, a new report suggests Texas might create a new industry to target similar leaking wells.

A report from the University of Texas and the Texas Climate Jobs Project says it is possible because of the methane pollution regulations proposed by the Environmental Protection Agency. Up to 35,000 new jobs might be produced because of the effort reported Inside Climate News.
