State Broadband Office updates progress on mapping of Oklahoma

Meetings Lay Groundwork for Oklahoma Broadband Plan

It could still be several months before Oklahoma’s Broadband Office is able to complete a map of the state showing where there are deserts of internet service for residents.

It’s what members of the Broadband Commission were told this week during a meeting in Oklahoma City.

“Nearly 800,000 Oklahomans do not have high speed or very good high-speed internet,” said Mike Sanders, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Broadband Office, reported Fox 25 News.

He indicated the office will have most of the necessary framework in place by the end of this year.
