Groups oppose proposed hydrogen hub for New Mexico and 3 other states

New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham has run into opposition over her plan to create an interstate hydrogen energy hub along with the states of Colorado, Utah and Wyoming.

It’s coming from a New Mexico coalition of Indigenous and environmental groups who sent a letter this week to U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm asking her to reject the Western Interstate Hydrogen Hub application.

The New Mexico No False Solutions Coalitions contends the project would devastate public health, clean air, Indigenous sacred places and the climate reported the Santa Fe New Mexican.

The proposed energy hub is similar to one planned by Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.
