GRDA to consider requesting another Attorney General’s opinion

Grand River Energy Center, Chouteau, Oklahoma, US.

Weeks after Attorney General Gentner Drummond ruled the Grand River Dam Authority’s assets were indeed owned by the state, he could be asked for another opinion by the Authority.

The GRDA meets June 14 and its agenda includes a request regarding the recent conditional document signed by Panasonic for construction of its EV battery plant near Pryor. NonDoc reported the issue is whether the document could trigger a 2022 state statute that could increase GRDA’s bonding capacity from $1.41 billion to $2 billion.

Panasonic chose to locate an EV battery plant at the Pryor Industrial Park on conditional terms. The park has access to the electricity produced by the GRDA.
