A 3% climb in crude oil prices on Tuesday also saw Oklahoma energy stocks make a big up with one firm recording a nearly 9% gain for the day.
Crude prices recovered from steep losses a day earlier and did so after China’s central bank lowered its short-term lending rate for the first time in 10 months reported Reuters. The rate cut is likely to increase oil demand.
The U.S. benchmark, West Texas Intermediate crude gained $2.31 or 3.4% a barrel to close at $69.43 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Brent crude, the global benchmark, rose $2.51 or 3.5% per barrel to finish at $74.35 on ICE Futures Europe.
Natural gas down 0.01at $2.33 – change 0.56%
Most Oklahoma energy stocks recorded gains for the day including a 9% increase for Mammoth Energy, 6% for NGL Energy and 5% for Helmerich & Payne.
