The oil refinery fire that broke out Tuesday morning in Wynnewood and injured two workers is under investigation.
The Garvin County Sheriff’s office reported the fire began around 8:20 a.m. in the gasoline hydrotreater at CVR Energy’s 74,500 barrel-per-day refinery.
“Two employees were injured and were transported offsite for evaluation. All other employees have been accounted for,” CVR spokesperson Brandee Stephens said in an emailed response to Reuters.
“The source of the fire has been isolated and emergency crews are working to extinguish the fire,” Stephens said, adding that an investigation is under way.
The sheriff’s office reported the fire source was source during the noon hour and fire crews were still on the scene.
