Study says clean energy jobs will replace oil and gas employment

What Are Clean Energy Careers?

A new study is out with what some critics might call a preposterous claim that Oklahoma and other oil and gas states stand to gain hundreds of thousands of jobs in the clean-energy sector as the US moves to a net-zero economy.

The claim says total employment in the nationwide US energy sector could double or even triple by 2050 to meet the demand for wind turbines, solar panels and transmission lines, according to the modelling published in Energy Policy.

The study went so far as to contend that jobs in low-carbon industries might even outweigh losses in the fossil-fuel rich regions that include Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico as oil, coal and gas operations are closed reported Carbon Brief
