Record oil and gas tax collections in southeast New Mexico

Oil and gas production has been so strong in far southeast New Mexico where part of the Permian Basin extends, that one county’s production tax collections are $20 million higher than for all of last year’s fiscal year.

Eddy County has just two months remaining in the 2023 fiscal year and collected $8 million in the month of March reported thee Carlsbad Current-Argus.
