Reports being filed with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission show drillers are still quite active in western Oklahoma.

Devon Energy Production Company and Mewbourne Oil each reported multiple-well pad sites with large combined production…Devon more than 2,200 barrels of oil a day from two wells on a Blaine County pad and Mewbourne with 1,500 barrels a day from two wells on an Ellis County pad site.

Devon filed completion reports on two Cowan wells at 22 15N 11W , three miles north of the Blaine County community of Greenfield. The Cowan 15_10-15n-11w 3hx produced 1,502 barrels of oil a day and 3,485 Mcf of natural gas from a drilled depth of 21,833 and a true vertical depth of 10,953 according to the completion report. 

Production was from the Mississippian formation after a Jan. 11, 2023 completion. The well had been spud in May of 2022.

The second well drilled on the same pad, the Cowan 15_10-15n-11w 4hx produced 772 barrels of oil a day and 1,845 Mcf of natural gas. The completion report showed a drilled depth of 21,931 feet and a true vertical depth of 10,931 following a May 2022 spud.

Mewbourne Oil reported two wells drilled on a single pad several miles south of the Ellis County city of Arnett, 35 18N 24W, had combined production of 1,543 barrels of oil a day. Both were completed in March 2023.

The Laura 26/23 Md 1h had production of 810 barrels of oil a day and 1,549 Mcf of natural gas from a drilled depth of 20,500 in the Cherokee formation. The completion report showed a true vertical depth of 10,032 feet following a December 2022 spud.

The second wells, the Sarah 35/2 Dm 1h, produced 733 barrels of oil a day and 1,656 Mcf of natural gas on the same pad and from a drilled depth of 20,080 feet. The completion report showed a true vertical depth 10,432 feet after a November 2022 spud.

Mewbourne Oil, based in Tyler, Texas, also completed a Dewey County well, the Edna 33/4 Ap 1h, which produced 850 barrels of oil a day and 2,546 Mcf of natural gas when completed in April 2023.

The completion report showed a drilled depth of 20,280 feet and a true vertical depth of 10,224 feet following a January 2023 spud.

In Kingfisher County, Canvas Energy LLC of Oklahoma City filed a completion report on the Forman 1605 2lohx-29-32 with production of 371 barrels of oil a day and 777 Mcf of natural gas. The well, completed in October 2022 had a drilled depth of 17,647 feet and a true vertical depth of 7,272 feet after a June 2022 spud.
