More fines issued in New Mexico for emissions violations

Records violations bring in nearly $2B in fines

 

New Mexico regulators fined six oil and gas operators for excessive air pollution emissions and the total was nearly $2 million.

The state’s Oil Conservation Division announced it issued the notices of violations to the companies for illegal venting and flaring practices that occurred in 2022 reported the Carlsbad Current-Argus.
