Devon awards funding to nonprofits

As part of its commitment to supporting diverse communities, Devon Energy awarded a total of $10,000 in Inclusion and Equity Grants to four local nonprofits. This is the first year of the grant program in western Oklahoma.

“Devon wants to make a real difference in people’s lives, and these new Inclusion and Equity Grants allow us to help the most vulnerable and give a voice to those in need,” said Tangi Smith, Devon community relations specialist.

“Our contributions will help provide advocates to abused and neglected children, food to families with children during the summer, after-school programming and transition support to young adults aging out of foster care.”

Devon’s employee-led panel reviewed applications and selected the following recipients:

·         Canadian County CASA

·         El Reno Blessing Baskets

·         Norman Smith Memorial Library

·         STEP UP Transitional Living

Devon expanded the overall program this year, awarding a total of 28 Inclusion and Equity Grants across Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Wyoming and North Dakota.
