The ability of Ovintiv Inc. to find large producer oil wells in Oklahoma’s STACK play continues to be a marvel to observers of the oil and gas industry.
The company’s latest two producers, both drilled on a single pad in Kingfisher County had combined production of nearly 2,900 barrels of oil a day.
Both Reub wells are located at 26 15N 7W which is about 4 miles northeast of Okarche where Ovintiv filed recent completion reports on three other wells.
The Rueb 1507 4h-26x, completed in November 2022, was the largest producer with 1,652 barrels of oil a day and 1,323 Mcf of natural gas from the Mississippian play. Drilled depth was 18,904 while the true vertical depth was 8,356 feet, according to the completion report which indicated a July 2022 spud.
The Rueb 1507 3h-26x, produced 1,218 barrels of oil a day and 957 Mcf of natural gas from a drilled depth of 18,805 feet and a true vertical depth of 8,379 feet. The completion report showed a July 2022 spud.
A three well single pad effort in Carter County by Kodiak Oil & Gas Inc. wasn’t so successful. Combined production on the Awu wells was 10 barrels of oil a day. That wasn’t a misprint. It was 10 barrels of oil a day from the Permian formation at a site at 35 3S 2W, a site about four miles northeast of Healdton. The wells had late 2022 spuds and completions were in January 2023.
Montclair Energy LLC of Edmond filed completion reports this week on two wells drilled on a single pad in Lincoln County. Combined production from the two Cowboy wells was 305 barrels of oil a day in the Hunton formation. The wells are located at 1 15N 4E, a site about six miles north of Chandler.
