Ovintiv reports more large producers in the STACK

 

When it comes to mixing the name of the energy company, Ovintiv USA Inc. and Oklahoma’s STACK play, it can only mean one thing—-big oil producers.

Completion reports recently filed by Ovintiv show three wells completed in October and November of 2022 had production of 1,120 barrels a day, 1,336 barrels a day and 612 barrels of oil a day.

The Coffey 1507 2h-27x, located at 27 15N 7W, was the largest producer with 1,336 barrels of oil a day and 1,237 Mcf of natural gas from a drilled depth of 18,950 feet in the Mississippian formation. Located about 3 miles northeast of the city of Okarche, the Coffey was completed in November of last year following a July spud and a true vertical drilled depth of  8,447 feet.

The Rueb 1507 2h-26x, located at 26 15N 7W, in the section adjoining the Coffey well, produced 1,120 barrels of oil a day and 1,818 Mcf of natural gas. Drilled depth in the Mississippian was 18,936 feet and its true vertical depth was 8,265 feet according to the completion report.

The third well, the  Mueggenborg 1708 3h-25x, located at 1 16N 8W , 5 miles northwest of Kingfisher produced 612 barrels of oil a day and 3,539 Mcf of natural gas. Drilled depth in the Mississippian was 19,202 feet and the well was completed in October 2022. The completion report showed a spud date of March 2022 and a true vertical drilled depth of 8,128 feet.

Two Canadian County wells drilled on a single pad produced nearly 600 barrels of oil a day. The Clyde Hansen 11_2-14n-9w 3mhx, located at 11 14N 9W, or six miles north of Calumet, had production of 345 barrels of oil a day and 1,578 Mcf of natural gas from the Mississippi Solid formation. Drilled depth was 21,323 feet and the completion report showed a true vertical depth of 10,164 feet. The well had an August 2022 spud date and completion was in December 2022.

The Clyde Hansen 11_2-14n-9w 2mhx, drilled on the same pad with a depth of 21,474 feet, produced 253 barrels of oil a day and 1,180 Mcf of natural gas. Completion was in December 2022 following an August spud and the true vertical depth was 9,962 feet.

Another Ellis County well was reported. Valpoint Operating LLC based in Amarillo, Texas completed the Shrewder 26-23 2h in December of 2022  following a September spud and had production of 402 barrels of oil a day and 460 Mcf of natural gas from the Oswego formation. Located at 27 18N 23W, a site southeast of Arnett, the well had a drilled depth of 18,088 feet and the completion report showed a true vertical depth of 9,550.
