New wells in northwest Oklahoma

 

 

Mewbourne Oil Company, the firm headquartered in Tyler, Texas, reported completions of two oil wells in northwest Oklahoma near the town of Arnett.

The Terryn 8/17 Cn 1h, located at 5 19N 25W which is 7 miles west of Arnett, produced 675 barrels of oil a day and 1,248 Mcf of natural gas when completed in October of 2022. The drilled depth was 20,055 feet while the true vertical depth in the Cherokee formation was 9,848 feet according to the completion report.

The well had been spudded in August of last year.

Several miles away at a site 5 miles south of Arnett, Mewbourne completed the Thelma 8/17 Cn 2h, 5 18N 24W

which produced 678 barrels of oil a day along with 1,367 Mcf of natural gas out of the Cherokee formation. The well’s drilled depth was 20,255 feet and its true vertical depth was 10,810 feet. Completion was in September 2022 following a July 2022 spudding.

Continental Resources reported completion of a Murray County well, the Balvenie 1-6-31-30xhw, in November of 2022. It had production of 265 barrels of oil a day and 376 Mcf of natural gas out of the Woodford formation at 6 1S 1E . The site is a few miles west of the junction of I-35 and State Highway 7 and west of the town of Davis.

It was drilled at 25,787 feet with a true vertical depth of  12,339 feet according to the completion report. 

It had been spudded in June of last year.
