New natural gas wells completed in Southeast Oklahoma

Southeast Oklahoma provided a handful of new natural gas wells in recent months according to the latest completion reports on file with the Corporation Commission.

One of the largest had production of 13,074 Mcf of natural gas along with 3 barrels of oil a day in Pittsburg County and was drilled by Calyx Energy III LLC. The Tulsa-based company is noted for its natural gas exploration in eastern Oklahoma.

This time, the Fairway 2-3-27 wh, drilled at 3 7N 13E , a site several miles northwest of McAlester and west of the Indian Nations Turnpike, was completed in December of 2022. Drilled depth was 16,143 feet after a spud in August of 2022 and the true vertical depth was listed at 5,046 feet according to the completion report.

A Coal County well drilled by Pablo Energy II LLC of Edmond produced 4,351 Mcf of natural gas and 72 barrels of oil a day. The Lewis 3h-31, completed in November of 2022, is located at 30 1N 10E or a few miles southwest of the city of Coalgate. It had a September 2022 spud date and a drilled depth of 11,556 feet according to the completion report. The true vertical depth was 6,812 feet in the Woodford formation.

Two Hughes County gas wells were also reported. Foundation Energy Management LLC of Tulsa had the Margie 0508-4hx located at 8 6N 9E with production of 4,949 Mcf of natural gas and 103 barrels of oil a day. The well was completed in October 2022 and the report was filed this week.

Another Hughes County well was reported by Silver Creek Oil & Gas LLC of Addison, Texas. The Ferret 17/20/29 4h, completed in March of last year, had production of 1,564 Mcf of natural gas and 10 barrels of oil a day. The well is located at 17 5N 9E and had a November 2021 spud date according to the completion report.

Three Major County wells, drilled on a single pad at 27 23N 12W, a site about a mile north of Cleo Springs, had combined oil production of about 800 barrels a day out of the Mississippi Lime formation. Cavass Energy of Oklahoma City filed completion reports showing all three wells were completed in August 2022.

The Bison 2312 2uoh-34a had production of 234 barrels of oil a day and 198 Mcf of natural gas from a drilled depth of 12,120 feet. The completion report showed a true vertical depth of 6,977 following a spud in March 2022.

The Bison 2312 1uoh-34 produced 365 barrels of oil and 144 Mcf of natural gas a day from a drilled depth of 12,209 feet and a true vertical depth of 6,972 feet. The completion report showed a spud in March of 2022.

The Bison 2312 3uoh-34a, with an April 2022 spud date, produced 198 barrels of oil a day and 463 Mcf of natural gas. The completion report showed a drilled depth of 12,223 feet and a true vertical depth of 6,889 feet.

Operations - Calyx Energy III

Nearby Blaine County was the source of a Marathon Oil Company well, the Alta Bia 1511 2-31-30mxh, which produced 912 barrels of oil a day and 7,368 Mcf of natural gas in November 2022. Located at 19 15N 11W, a site about 5 miles south of Watonga, the well had a drilled depth of 18,395 feet and a true vertical depth of 12,041 feet in the Mississippi according to the completion report.

A rather significant gas well was reported in Grady County by Gulfport Midcon LLC. The Scr 3r-31x6h, completed in August of 2022, produced 11,401 Mcf of natural gas along with 545 barrels of oil a day from the Woodford formation.

Located southwest of Lindsay at 30 4N 5W , the well had a drilled depth of 25,800 feet and a true vertical depth of 13,979 feet according to the completion report, which also showed a spud date in May 2022.
