NASA’s ESG angers Republicans on Senate Committee

NASA’s new requirements that contracts disclose their greenhouse gas emissions data angered the 13 Republicans who sit on the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee.

Led by Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, they wrote to  the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to express concern over a recent climate rule that could impact the agency’s mission.

No Oklahoma Senators sit on the committee but Cruz and the other committee members demanded NASA Administrator Bill Nelson, a former Senator appointed in 2021, drop the rule proposed in November. The 13 GOP lawmakers said the regulation was not based in science and would lead to political favoritism reported Fox News.
