Enviros wanted more restrictions on Keystone pipeline following Kansas leak

Slap on the wrist for McGregor? Not entirely. But he ain't going to jail
A slap on the wrist. It’s what environmentalists are calling a federal order issued last week for TC Energy to lower the pressure in part of its Keystone Pipeline following the December oil spill in rural northern Kansas.
The order could affect the flow of oil to the Cushing Hub in northern Oklahoma. The Department of Transportation’s order also directed TC Energy to determine whether land movement played a role in the spill near Washington, Kansas and attributed to “bending stress on the pipe.”

“TC Energy doesn’t need a slap on the wrist – it needs real consequences to ensure the communities, drinking water, and waterways are kept safe from disaster,” said Catherine Collentine, Beyond Dirty Fuels director for the Sierra Club, one of the nation’s largest environmental organizations reported the Kansas City Star.
