Crude oil prices went up about a half percent in Thursday’s trading and some Oklahoma energy stocks scored well too.
Why the slight gain? It was due to signs of a strong economic rebound in top crude importer China according to Reuters.
West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose 47 cents or 0.6% to close at $78.16 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude gained 44 cents or 0.5% and finished the day on ICE Futures Europe at $84.75 a barrel.
April natural gas fell 4 cents to $2.77 per 1,000 cubic feet.
It was a good day for some Oklahoma energy stocks including Helmerich & Payne where there was a 5% gain and Vital Energy with a 3.5% gain. Not so good for Mammoth Energy because it had a nearly 6% tumble in value.
