Bill to put more restrictions on oil and gas wins early approval in New Mexico legislature

A bill the oil and gas industry says would increase their costs and at the same time harm the revenue the industry provides to New Mexico, won an early approval in a legislative committee.

Supporters claim the bill would reform the state’s oil and gas regulations. It would also make multiple amendments to New Mexico’s Oil and Gas Act.

It was approved in a Senate Committee reported the Carlsbad Current-Argus.
