Toll road opponents raise ethical questions about legislator’s sale of home to Turnpike Authority

OTA deal gets lawmaker $100K over appraisal, one year free rent

 

The actions of Newcastle Rep. Sherrie Conley to become one of the first to take advantage of the State Turnpike Authority’s new toll road plans shortly after they were released are under scrutiny.

Conley sits on the House Transportation Committee and jumped at the chance to sell her home for $103,460 above the appraised value reported the Sunday Oklahoman.

The sale and the amount she was paid left told road opponents wondering about the ethics of what Conley did.

Conley also received $26,000 in moving expenses and according to the Oklahoman report is now living rent free for up to a year in the home.
