Crude oil dropped 3% in Wednesday’s trading as investors grew more worried about the potential for increased interest rates by central banks.
Oklahoma energy stocks were mixed.
West Texas Intermediate crude for April deliveries dropped 3% or $2.41 per barrel and closed at $74.05 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude also fell 3% on a $2.45 a barrel decline to $80.60 on ICE Futures Europe.
March natural gas rose 10 cents to $2.17 per 1,000 cubic feet.
The day’s trading resulted in a mixed effort for Oklahoma energy stocks.
The biggest gains of the day were by Gulfport Energy at 3% and Chesapeake Energy and Ovintiv, each with more than 2% increases. The biggest loss of the day was Canoo EV maker where stocks dropped about 5%.
