Slight losses were recorded Friday in crude oil prices while Oklahoma energy stocks made gains for the day.
Both crude benchmarks ended the first week of the year down because of global recession worries.
West Texas Intermediate crude managed a 10-cent gain or 0.1% on Friday to settle at $73.77 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude dropped 12 cents or 0.2% to finish the day at $78.57 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
Both WTI and Brent finished the week down more than 8% and it was their biggest weekly drops to start the year since 2016.
February natural gas fell 1 cent to $3.71 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Oklahoma energy stocks recorded mostly gains in Friday’s trading including a 5% increase for PHX Minerals and a 6% boost for Gulfport Energy Corp.
