A report issued Thursday by the Enverus Foundation showed a drop in the number of oil and gas rigs in the Anadarko Basin and across the U.S.
The U.S. rig count reached 872 during the week ended Jan. 25, falling by six from the previous week, according to Enverus Foundations data. The count is flat compared with a month ago and up 20% YOY. All numbers discussed are weekly peaks to avoid the sometimes wide variability of daily numbers.
In the last week, the Permian count increased by three rigs to 340, while the DJ Basin added one rig to reach 20. The Williston Basin was flat at 42 rigs, while the Anadarko Basin dropped five to hit 77. The Gulf Coast and Appalachia dropped a rig each to 120 and 53.
