Thursday’s trading resulted in a nearly 2% gain for crude oil prices after top oil importer China reopened its economy. Oklahoma energy stocks had another weak day.
West Texas Intermediate crude went up 86 cents or 1.1% and settled at $81.01 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude rose 1.6% or $1.35 per barrel and closed at $87.47 on ICE Futures Europe.
February natural gas fell 13 cents to $2.94 per 1,000 cubic feet.
It was another weak day for most Oklahoma energy stocks with Chesapeake Energy losing nearly 4%. Ovintiv gained about 3%.
