You never know what will happen to crude oil prices from day to day. On Monday, prices fell, then a day later, they rose.
At the same time, most Oklahoma energy stocks recorded gains on Tuesday.
Analysts credited the gain to growing optimism that China, the world’s second-largest consumer of oil will reopen from its COVID-19 restrictions.
West Texas Intermediate crude for December delivery went up $1.84 a barrel or more than 2% to close at $88.37 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude for January delivery gained $1.84 or about 2% to settle at $94.65 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
December natural gas fell 65 cents or about 10% to $5.71 per 1,000 cubic feet.
