Corporation Commissioners to decide on OGE bill increase

Why Is My Electric Bill So High? | EnergySage

OGE’s request for increased fuel cost adjustment charges faces yet another hearing Thursday as the utility wages an uphill battle with consumer groups.

The utility seeks the increase because of a summer collections shortfall totaling $424 million. If approved by Corporation Commissioners, it would result in f a 7.4% or nearly $9.73 increase for the average residential customer over the next two years.

OGE officials explained in hearings this week the shortage was the result of electricity generation costs throughout the summer according to The Oklahoman.

Commissioners will review the issue during their 9:30 a.m. regular meeting at the Jim Thorpe building.
