Crude oil prices rose more than $1 a barrel in Thursday’s trading as investors eased their concerns about a U.S. recession and showed optimism because of record U.S. crude exports.
The U.S. benchmark, West Texas Intermediate crude for December delivery gained $1.17 or 1.3% to settle at $89.08 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
The global benchmark, Brent crude for December delivery rose 1.3% or $1.27 to $96.96 a barrel in trading on ICE Futures Europe.
The continued price increase came as data revealed record U.S. crude exports.
November natural gas fell 42 cents to $5.19 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Some Oklahoma energy stocks suffered losses in Thursday’s trading while others recorded gains. Mammoth Energy gained nearly 5% while PHX Minerals dropped more than 3%.
Other energy stocks had similar gains and losses according to the Texas Energy Report.
