Monday’s trading brought a slight gain for crude oil prices, mostly built on worries about tight oil supplies. It also resulted in losses or weak gains for most Oklahoma energy stocks.
West Texas Intermediate crude for October delivery gained 62 cents or 0,7% to finish at $85.73 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude went up 65 cents or 0.7% to close at $92 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
Gains were recorded as OPEC+ reported it fell short of its oil production target in August.
October natural gas fell 1 cent to $7.75 per 1,000 cubic feet.
If Oklahoma energy stocks weren’t down on Monday, their gains were moderate at best—with one exception. Mammoth Energy recorded at more than 5% gain for the day.
Other energy stocks had the same kind of day according to the Texas Energy Report.
