Oil and gas exploration leads to new wells in Oklahoma

From Kingfisher to Garvin to Carter County in Oklahoma, several large producers have been reported by energy companies.

Continental Resources Inc. completed a Carter County well with production of 1,099 barrels of oil a day and 160 Mcf of natural gas. Drilled at 6 2S 3W, four miles southwest of Ratliff City, the Catskills 1-1-12xhm was completed June 11 following an April 2022 spud date. The well had a drilled depth of 17,740 feet into the Sycamore formation.

A Garvin County well by Ovintiv Mid-Continental Inc produced 1,291 barrels of oil a day and 1,564 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 18,132 feet in the Springer formation. Located at 33 3N 4W, southwest of Purdy, the Patricia Ann 0304 2h-28 had a September 2021  spud date before completion was made May 7 of this year.

Ovintiv also filed reports on three wells drilled on a single pad in Kingfisher County with combined daily production of 1,515 barrels of oil and  1,863 Mcf of natural gas.

The three wells were drilled in Ovintiv’s favorite location in Kingfisher County…just south of the city of Kingfisher at 10 15N 7W.

The Ralph 1507 2h-15x produced 431 barrels of oil and 605 Mcf of natural gas a day from a depth of 18,698 feet in the Mississippi Solid. It was completed in February 2022 following a spud date in July of 2021.

The Ralph 1507 3h-15x was the largest producer at 586 barrels of oil and 629 Mcf of natural gas a day when completed in February of this year at a depth of 18,679 feet. It was spudded in July of last year according to the completion report.

The Ralph 1507 4h-15x was completed in February at a depth of 18,647 and had production of 498 barrels of oil and 629 Mcf of natural gas. It had a July 4, 2021 spud date according to the completion report.

 

Life After 5: How Tight-Oil Wells Grow Old

Marathon Oil Company had big success with two wells on a single pad in Garvin County. The two had combined production of 1,752 barrels of oil and 7,632 Mcf of natural gas a day.

The Concho 0304 1-10-3mxh, drilled at 15 3N 4W, a site north of Purdy and a depth of 23,801 feet produced1,032 barrels of oil a day and 4,704 Mcf of natural gas upon completion in January 2022. The well was spudded in November of 2019.

The Concho 0304 2-10-3mxh, completed in February 2022 produced 720 barrels of oil a day along with 2,928 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 23,798 feet. It too had a November 2019 spud date.

Marathon also reported completion of the Eubank 0304 3-10-3wxh, 15 3N 4W, a site adjacent to the two Concho wells north of Purdy. Completed in February of this year, the Eubank had production of 648 barrels of oil a day and 3,792 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 24,085 feet in the Woodford formation.

The well was spudded in November 2019.

Here are other wells with solid production.

Peachridge Energy Operating LLC of Houston drilled into the Marchand formation in Caddo County and the Dover 24-4h produced 533 barrels of oil a day.

Duncan Oil Properties Inc. of Oklahoma drilled the Bd 1-29hx in Ellis County and the well produced 535 barrels of oil and 1,169 Mcf of natural gas a day.

An Ellis County well drilled by Mewbourne Oil Company produced 638 barrels of oil a day and  501 Mcf of natural gas.

CPRP Services LLC of Oklahoma City drilled the Zima 0604 15-4wh in McClain County and got production of 337 barrels of oil a day.

Hinkle Oil & Gas Inc. of Oklahoma City produced a series of wells in Kingfisher County including four on a single pad with combined production of 1,437 barrels of oil a day. The Lincoln North Unit wells, all drilled at 32 18N 5W , a site midway between Dover and Crescent had May spud dates with completions in July of this year.

Hinkle had four other Kingfisher County wells.

Canvas Energy LLC came up with a Canadian County well producing 595 barrels of oil and 6,587 Mcf of natural gas a day.

Continental Resources hit a gas well in Custer County. The Schrock 2-14-23-26xhm, drilled at 14 14N 14W , 5 miles southeast of Thomas produced 18,889 Mcf of natural gas a day from a depth of 28,863 feet in the Mississippian formation.
