The world’s crude oil prices settled Tuesday at a 2-week high with a 1% gain as traders expressed more worries about a weaker dollar and tight oil supplies.
West Texas Intermediate crude for August delivery finished up $1.62 or 1.6% to finish the day at $104.22 a barrel in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude for September delivery increased 1% or $1.08 and settled at $107.35 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe. It was Brent’s highest close since July 4 while WTI was at its highest point since July 8.
More gains were recorded by Oklahoma energy stocks including 6% for Laredo Petroleum and PHX Minerals and 5% for Devon Energy.
