Enverus shows national oil and gas rig growth while Anadarko holds steady

 

The U.S. rig count rose by six in the last week to 802 as of June 2, according to Enverus Foundations.

Oklahoma’s Anadarko Basin was unchanged.

The count is up 1% in the last month and up 50% in the last year. Activity levels reached as high as 877 during the last week, down by three compared to the prior week’s peak.

On a peak-to-peak basis, changes in major plays were limited to increases or decreases of one or two rigs. The Permian and Gulf Coast hit 2022 highs of 314 and 104, respectively. Since the start of the year, the Permian has added 38 rigs, amounting to a 14% increase. The Gulf Coast is up 27 rigs, or 36%.

The 39-rig count in the Williston Basin is up by seven rigs YTD, or 22%, while the DJ has added six rigs, bringing its total to 20.

The Anadarko and Appalachian basins have added five rigs each during the period, with current totals of 67 and 52, respectively.

The overall U.S. count is up by 120 rigs, or 18%, since the beginning of the year.
