Cooler weather returns this weekend in Oklahoma

The latest drought monitor shows the dry conditions in western Oklahoma and the Panhandle are not easing.

Eastern Oklahoma is a complete opposite of the conditions on the western part of the state—thanks to a lot of rain in recent weeks.

While there isn’t much relief coming in the change of weather in terms of rain, at least it promises to be much cooler on Friday.

“Friday we’ll see a pretty strong cold front that should drop us into the 60s and 70s for highs and 40s and 50s for lows (30s for you folks in the western Panhandle, possibly). Then a somewhat cooler next week before we make the abrupt return to summer-like weather we’ve been seeing,” wrote Gary McManus with the Oklahoma Mesonet in his report on Thursday.

Check out the expected weekend highs.

Followed by the Sunday morning lows!
