Congresswoman says Democrats’ price gouging bill will be a failure

Oklahoma Congresswoman Stephanie Bice says the House-passed Democrat Fuel Price Gouging bill offers no real solutions for the energy crisis facing America.

She was one of those who voted against H.R. 7688 or the Consumer Fuel Price Gouging Prevention Act.

Rep. Bice, the Republican from Edmond called it by another name–the Socialist Energy Price Fixing Act and said it would establish de facto price controls on fuels that could lead to fuel shortages and also increase dependence on foreign energy.

In speaking against the measure on the House floor, Bice said the measure could lead to a return to the long gas lines the nation saw in the 1970s. The congresswoman said the only way to combat the high gasoline prices that have led to an energy crisis is to increase supply.

“And the only way to do that is increase American production,” she said.
