Oklahoma regulators are advising storage tank owners and operators there’s a new method of paying for annual tank permit fees and if they’re not paid, tank operations will be closed.

The Oklahoma Corporation Commission’s Petroleum Storage Tank Division sent a notice to operators this week advising them that April 1st invoices for the annual fees were mailed to tank owners and operators.

A second invoice for late fees will be issued June 1 to all owners and operators who failed to make payment of the initial invoice. Failure to pay the annual fees will result in storage tank system shutdown, according to the notice.

The PSTD also advised operators that PSTD fuel specialists will no longer collect annual tank permit fees at the facility. As a result, if payments are not received by June 30, the storage tank system will be shut down until payment has been received.

The Petroleum Storage Tank Division is now accepting credit card and ACH payments for tank permit fees.
