Slight decrease seen in Oklahoma gasoline prices

10 Tips to Save on Gas This Holiday Season

 

The drop in crude oil prices to under $100 a barrel resulted in slightly lower gasoline prices across Oklahoma and most of the U.S.

The national average as of Thursday fell three cents over the past week to $4.28 while in Oklahoma the average dropped the same amount to $3.82 according to the American Automobile Association.

Oklahoma City motorists paid an average of $3.89, a drop of two cents per gallon over the past week. Tulsa’s average declined 11 cents in the past week to $3.73 as of Thursday.

At least 5 counties in Oklahoma still had an average greater than $4 with Coal County’s $4.18 average the highest in the state. Logan County had an average of $4.05 while drivers in McClain County paid an average of $4.06 per gallon.

Oklahoma’s statewide average of $3.82 compared to $3.79 in Kansas, $3.96 in Colorado, $4.16 in New Mexico, $3.95 in Texas, $3.86 in Arkansas and $3.79 in Missouri.

Since last Thursday, these 10 states have seen the largest decreases in their averages: Delaware (−16 cents), New Jersey (−11 cents), Washington, D.C. (−11 cents), Maryland (−10 cents), Maine (−9 cents), Virginia (−8 cents), Connecticut (−8 cents), Vermont (−8 cents), Pennsylvania (−7 cents) and Wisconsin (−6 cents).
