Baker Hughes reports increased rig numbers

US oil and gas rig numbers increase while Oklahoma is unchanged – Oklahoma  Energy Today

 

While Oklahoma held steady with 53 working oil and gas rigs in the past week, numbers across the nation increased by 10 to reach a total of 645 reported Baker Hughes in its weekly report on Friday.

The national count included a gain of 4 oil rigs to reach a total of 520 while the number of gas rigs increased by 6 to 124. The U.S. rig count is 248 more than the 397 reported one year ago including an additional 215 oil rigs and 33 gas rigs.

Texas remains highest with a gain of 8 for a total of 308 rigs. Louisiana slipped one to 53 while New Mexico added 2 for a total of 94 rigs. North Dakota was unchanged at 33 rigs.

The Red Top Rig Report in Kansas showed 39 rigs, same as a week ago. Ohio’s count fell one to 11 rigs while Pennsylvania saw a gain of one to 25 rigs. West Virginia stayed at 11 while the number in Wyoming declined one to 14.

The Permian Basin which takes in West Texas and southeastern New Mexico saw an addition of 5 rigs for a total of 306. The Williston was unchanged at 34. The Haynesville added 4 rigs for a total of 58.

The Ardmore Woodford was unchanged at one rig while the Arkoma Woodford added one to reach 3 working rigs. The Cana Woodford increased one to 26.

The D-J Basin added 2 rigs for a total of 14 while the Granite Wash was unchanged at 5. The Marcellus count grew by one to 36. The Mississippi lost its only working rig and fell to zero.

The Utica numbers declined by one to 11 working rigs.
