The ethanol industry suffered a blow from the U.S. Supreme Court this week when justices turned away efforts to revive a Donald Trump administration move to allow expanded sales of gasoline with E15, a higher ethanol blend.
Reuters reports a biofuels industry group had filed a petition for the higher court to review a lower court ruling.
Iowa Republican U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst said she was “extremely disappointed” and had pushed for the court to take the case saying, “Iowa farmers, biofuel producers and American consumers need certainty and they need it now.”
