If a report is correct, plutonium from the Savannah River Site in South Carolina will be transported for storage to New Mexico next year.

It will be trucked to a salt mine repository for entombment, reported the Aiken Standard newspaper in South Carolina. The underground storage site is the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant in southeast New Mexico.
