Action taken by the Texas Railroad Commission regarding the growing number of West Texas earthquakes believed caused by injection well activity has the attention of officials in New Mexico too.
The Commission first responded when several magnitude 4 and 5 quakes were recorded around Midland and restrictions were put into effect. Later in October, the Texas regulators put another seismic response into effect next to the border with New Mexico.
