Completions and new drilling in Oklahoma

Sometimes multi-wells drilled on a single pad don’t produce what was anticipated proving that drilling can be a risky business.

Such is the case in Carter County where Kodiak Oil & Gas Inc. drilled four wells on a single pad at 27 4S 2W, a site at the northeast side of the town of Wilson. All four wells had combined production of only 221 barrels of oil a day.

The wells had spud dates in March and April and completions were made in June. Production was 12, 25, 87 and 97 barrels of oil a day for Kodiak Oil & Gas, a company based in Muenster, Texas.

Marathon Oil Company brought in two wells on a single pad in Grady County and had combined production of 1,179 barrels of oil a day. The Rue 0606 wells are located at 22 6N 6W, which is a pad about 4 miles northwest of Alex. Completions were made in February 2020 but the reports were just filed this week with Oklahoma regulators.
