A Canadian energy company wants to build North Dakota’s first factory designed to turn natural gas into liquid fuels. It is a proposed $2.8 billion project that could go a long way in reducing the amount of natural gas flared in the state.

The Associated Press reported the state approved a $3 million loan this week to Calgary-based Cerilon Inc.
