After making slight gains earlier in the week, crude oil prices tumbled in Friday’s trading and sent many Oklahoma energy stocks on the same path.
West Texas Intermediate crude dropped 64 cents and settled at $71.97 a barrel.
Global benchmark Brent crude had a 33-cent fall and finished the day at $75.34 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe. Still, Brent managed a 3.3% increase for the week while WTI had a 3.2% climb, thanks to tight supplies resulting from oil production outages in the hurricane.
The Friday drop for Brent came after five straight trading sessions where prices increased.
As for Oklahoma energy prices, most had losses for the day but some, like LSB Industries with a nearly 6% gain had a better day in trading.
