Crude oil prices managed another increase on Friday following Monday’s drop and analysts credited expectations that crude oil supplies will stay tight for the year.
West Texas Intermediate crude for September delivery finished up 16 cents to settle at $72.07 a barrel.
Global benchmark Brent crude for September delivery rose 31 cents and closed at $74.10 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
The continued growth in crude oil prices also resulted in better trading for Oklahoma energy stocks. LSB Industries had a gain of more than 7% and Laredo Petroleum gained more than 5% in Friday’s trading.
