Falling U.S. inventories helped spark a bounce back for crude oil prices on Friday and now investors and others will wait to see whether the rebound will continue on Monday.
West Texas Intermediate crude for August delivery rose $1.62 or 2.2% to finish Friday at $74.56.
Global benchmark Brent crude closed up $1.43 or 1.93% at $75.55 on ICE Futures Europe.
Prices had tumbled earlier in the week following the collapse of output talks between OPEC and allies known as OPEC+.
Oklahoma energy stocks joined the big day with PHX Minerals Inc. having a 14.63% gain on a 48 cent climb to $3.76 per share. Three others had equally big gains. Unit Corporation went up $1.66 for a 9.50% gain to settle at $19.16. LSB Industries gained 8.89% on a 44 cent increase to $5.39. Mammoth Energy Services rose 33 cents resulting in a 7.45% gain to $4.76.
